SSM also saw an eclectic mix. Matt Zyskowski took the national title in this 1990 Mazda Miata.

A little further back in the pack: Thomas Thompson’s McLaren 620R and Bill Gelinas in a Ferrari 360.

FWD or AWD for STH? Chris Yoder claimed the national title in the 2017 Honda Civic Si, but the trophies also included the WRX, Audi TT and GTI.

I was noticing the FSP results and how eclectic it was, and that a Mazda 3 was in the top two spots (same car, different drivers.) Very cool, thanks for the pics. It's become my favorite class. And I would argue the most GRM (other than the Hoosiers!). :)

Can someone explain to me how the Si Civic is winning STH? I know it's drivers but still I would think that Si is giving up a ton of power and two driven wheels to an STI or TT. Must be weight.

FSP has had a cool factor since it sprang off DSP however many years ago. Hard to explain, but there’s something cool about a Protege, Rabbit or whatever on fat Hoosiers.

Trophy positions from STH at Nats last year.

Dumb question, from someone who isn't there.  But did someone blatantly cheat in the club spec mustang class?

In reply to camopaint0707 :

No one was officially protested in the Club Spec Mustang class, but sounds like there were some issues discussed regarding the top-finishing car. I’m still reading the back and forth in the SCCA Club Spec Facebook Group.

From the "Mustang good news front":

Robert Lewis in the Mod Squad Mustang out of Tallahassee Florida dominated by 3 seconds on Thursday in CP and was overall PAX leader.

David posted two pictures of the "outlaw" in above posts.

Congratulations on the results of a lot of hard work!

Forgive my ignorance here, but what exactly is the point the guy is trying to make by admitting he entered a car classes illegally? I didn't see anywhere him saying he wants to forfeit the win.  It's just all odd

It's always been a fun class. I've ran there for years in a Mirage. I agree that it is a very grassroots class. For years I ran custom made coilovers based off A1 VW Koni inserts I bought off of Zimmer. Cheap to enter and pretty cheap to build.

An FSP Mirage sounds amazing! I'd love to see some pics of the car sometime.

I'd love a GRM rundown of the FSP champion Mazda 3. Just saying.

I thought I had more but this is from my first year Autox about 20 years ago. At the time, It was closer to what an STS build would be. It got a lot more built as the years went on. The last build had 215/45/13 Hoosiers on 13x9 rims and about 25 more HP.
