It's a 2021 Grand Touring RF,  and they want 32k plus fees for it. I'd just buy new at that point.

I had an excellent experience using the s plan pricing, that I got by being an SCCA member. SCCA membership is 75 a year, and will get you reduced entry fee into track night in America...

What is plan S pricing? I'm an SCCA member...

I'm not a member this year because I haven't ran any events with them, but, login and go to the the "benefits" section (or something equivalent), and look for the Mazda Motorsports/S-plan link to generate a pin.  Basically, give the number to a dealer who works with S-plan, and they'll honor it.  It's a decent discount on MSRP, not always the best deal you could possibly manage from a dealer kinda thing, but I've used it twice and been out of the dealership with my new car in less than an hour.

Here's the 2023 prices:

You're welcome! I bought my ND S-plan (~32,500 base cost), my total out-the-door tax/title/tags was somewhere in the $37,500 range if I recall.   I set it all up via a 5 minute call then a few text messages to get my out-the-door price.  I bought it at a dealer in NJ (the last of the color combo I wanted on the east coast).  The only sales things I had to refuse was all the additional warranty stuff.  I was only in the building that time for about 25 minutes.

I got mine with the SCCA S-Plan deal as well. Found the combination of features I wanted, contacted the dealer in CT, they sent a quote, I agreed to it, and that was it. Took just shy of $2k off the price.

That is great to know. I have been shopping used exclusively but will open the search up to new as well. It looks like I can get a used ND2 with relatively low miles for ~$28K with careful shopping, so that is still my first choice.

In true GRM fashion, I've purchased my first ND Miata part...while not owning an ND Miata!

Quick follow up question - I read that the grand touring models have an extra layer of fabric in the convertible top. Is that true? If yes, for those who have driven both the GT and the Club, does it make a difference?

I don't know if that's still the case, but it certainly was in 2016. And yes, you could notice the difference.

Fiat put the thick top in all the 124s, which certainly helped to give the Classica a more premium feel.

Revisiting this thread to update everyone. We bought a new car on Friday! The bad news is I can't figure out how to put the top down. The good news is it got really good gas mileage on the way home from Orlando where we bought it! :D

That's correct. In the end, we determined that I wanted her to have an ND more than she wanted one. What she really wanted was an EV and, more specifically, the Ioniq 6. I found one in the desired color/trim combo (Digital green over dark green/gray interior, Limited, RWD) in Winter Park and struck a deal with them. I ran down Friday afternoon (bad timing with July 4th traffic) and drove it home that night. There is a LOT to learn with the car!

LOL. I wish! That's what I get for buying parts for a car I don't own. I'll be posting them for sale here shortly.

Fun fact. My 2012 BMW X5 is 191.1" long. The 2023 Ioniq 6 is 191.1" long. It is a big sedan!

Glad you figured that out before you bought it!

Looks like a great car, I had a 2022 Ioniq base as a runabout rental down in NC.  It was a great little car.  I imagine the 6 is a lot nicer :)

Sorry! I'm a bit disappointed myself. But the Ioniq is still pretty cool.
