for years ive wanted to build a track t, like the one speedway offers. only problem is that i dislike the way streetrods handle and stop with solid front axles, and theyt dont have enough chassis regidity to entertain me. so my thoughts lately have been to build a locost and skin it with a track t.
has this been done and documented? ive never built a car from absolute scratch. ive built/rebuilt a bunch of cars, building everything from dedicated time trial cars to restored 66 GTO's. cars arent new to me, and im not scared by the prospect of cutting a welding a ton of tubing to make a space frame.
my general thought is to use GM metric chassis suspension parts, solid rear axle with 3 link, rack and pinion steering, GM 60*v6, and go from there. most of this i already have laying around as leftovers from other projects.
so what say you guys? i still have to compare the chassis drawings i downloaded for the +442e to the 27t body. hopefylly the chassis is close, as engineering at this scale is not my strong suit.
right now im just trying to figure the feasability of this....
