I got to ride in one around 1990. Memorable. "Fighter jet" seating is a really good description. Congratulations!

I worked as a porter at an Acura dealer in the early 2000s when I was in college, and got to drive to me or two. Stupendous cars. Everything just felt so right. And I mean everything.
Congrats!

thank you. thank you. I love how my Elise seating positionn is. I have lots of texts from friends asking me to compare elise vs nsx.
so far, I would say its a grown up version of my 95 MR2 Turbo and a higher quality version of my Elise. Of course I don't have the seat time, to give detailed review of the comparo and of the nsx yet

Man you are lucky! Our porters weren't allowed to drive the NSX. Only the service GM moved them around (new ones).
Porters moved the customer ones around. ITR was the dream then as NSX was untouchable.
Feel lucky to be a steward of this one.
We must be similar ages. Yes, the car just speaks to me.. WOW
johndej said:At least this wasn't as hard to get as that Evo. Congratulations!
Oh my my.. EVO owner was crazy
this owner is a full on nerd like us.. very nice guy..getleman
wonder if he will cry and hug me on delivery day.... willl keep you posted
Wow this is glorious! Best christmas present ever!
My son never knew the NSX was a thing until we saw one at a car show last year, and he just stopped in his tracks. Mind blown that Honda made something so cool.
Congrats. I almost bought one right after I finished grad school 12 years ago. 1990, 5 speed, sebring silver, black interior, 30k miles. All for $30k.
I could have afforded but I didn't want a car payment with student loan payments. Stupid mistake. Loans paid off, but NSXs are now priced too high.
I'll live vicariously through you.
I'm not a silver car fan, but that silver is perfect for that car. What a great color, what a great find. When it's home, at some point stop and take 5 minutes to soak it in, You made it happen, You did it, and deserve it. Don't let anyone take that away from you. Congratulations, what a great day.
Big congrats! It's a gorgeous machine. That's the right car, in the right place, at the right time. And you're the right person to take over caretaker duties from the previous owner.
Nicest color I have seen on one.....
Absolutely GREEN with envy. Can you please write my screen name down and put into the glovebox in case your wife makes you sell in? Dibs!!
CANT wait to hear your impressions once you throttle it.
Very nice!
Last weekend I re-connected with a couple that I was pretty close with many years ago - we both started racing at about the same time. They have TWO NSXs! One red and one silver.
UPDATE:
Well I got a call from the owner this morning, if he can stop by my place. I wasn't sure what to do. I am heading out of state, and wasn't sure if he changed his mind. Quickly I said sure. He shows up with his wife (in their LC500) and has a bag in his hand.
I ask them to come in, and he says "it is Christmas, all the new stuff I had for the NSX, I wanted to give it to you today, knowing you would be a good steward."
Sat around and chatted almost 2 hours about the engineers, and husband and wife both told their stories about the car and their experience. He mentioned his first sports car was a MG, and it was a POS, and he returned it right away and took a big loss. She mentioned she was never into cars, till she started going to the yearly NSXPO and really made some life long friends and will miss that, but they can't do those long far drives anymore. Wished that I continue the tradition.
Was totally heart warming. This is what was some stuff in the bag

Dude, I'm very happy for you.
Thank you so much! It really hasn't sunk in.
I haven't felt like this till I picked up my ordered Lotus Elise in Greenwich CT in 2007 and did a full cross country drive in it.

Thank you. This is CERTAINLY the best present ever (for me)!
Anybody in the LA area, come, check it out, drive, and enjoy. Spreading the cheer is the most fun. My kids are stoked! Lets see if they like it in person

Funny the car you mentioned you almost bought IS the one I was looking at. Albeit for 75K. Yes they definitely were cheap. But alas that is neither here nor there
Thank you. Yes car payment prevented me from buying many things over the years.. but looking back glad made the good financial decisions back then.

Thank you. I read your post 3 times. I appreciate it. I am also not a silver car fan. I am a RIo Yellow/Imola Orange guy.
Your post meant a lot to me. At the end of the day, we are here on Earth for a short period, we do our thing, who knows what happens tomorrow. This is definitely something I did for myself. Probably why its been hard to accept that it is real in so many ways. It is a reminder for me to make the poster on the wall real, the work, the sacrifices, the schooling, etc... after taking care of other people.. doing the things I needed to for my responsbilities... it hasn't hit home for me...
As I said earlier... for Stradman it is his Agera, for Doug its his Carrera GT, etc.... for me as a normal middle class dude... to be able to do it after 20 years... the NSX stands for soemthing... it isn't status (no one here cares), it isn't flashy.. but it has a value to me that is rather intrinsic.. and your post really summed it up.
... thank you. ...
paddygarcia said:He's close, you could schedule some rides.
Aboslutely! I told him if he wants to ride NSXPO to Dallas next year, I would be honored to take him with me. He told me he never went without his wife. His wife piped up "I am ok if Ryan takes you."
There are good people out there still, who believe in a handshake, and say what they mean... refreshing in my part of the country...
Old Skool.. served the country..lived a good life... rewarded himself in retirement.. and knew when to hang it up.
Inspiration for us car guys and humans in general.
