Thank you sir!

Thank you. As most of who know me, know, cars are a revolving door here. Most come, stay, leave. Some are here for ever, as long as I can and able to take care of them. The memories with my friends, family, are what remains... the materialism isn't it.
This is something I willl cherish.. like my dads watch when he passed away.. or the last letter my mom wrote to me... the value it has and the way I will take care of it..
I wish it was here in teh garage..I could give it a bath.. wax.. sit and admire for a bit... patience... 20 years of waiting..whats another week.. RIGHT?

Absolutely GREEN with envy. Can you please write my screen name down and put into the glovebox in case your wife makes you sell in? Dibs!!
CANT wait to hear your impressions once you throttle it.
Thank you!! If my wife makes me sell it.. I may have to leave the house and sleep in the NSX.

Last weekend I re-connected with a couple that I was pretty close with many years ago - we both started racing at about the same time. They have TWO NSXs! One red and one silver.
That is awesome! I have two friends like that.. one has a red and yellow 360 CS. Both new, ordered new, and kept to this other. I have another friend who has 2 Diablos. Purple and Yellow. Exact same cars except for color.
I am definitely not lucky enough to have two!
What a find! Still one of my bucket list cars so I'm looking forward to reading more about your experiences with this car.

No pressure .

This was the photo on the test drive. First time he had a stranger and not his wife in the car ...
Man congrats on everything relating to that car.
And let's just take a moment to confirm that the owner is a LEGEND - not just for owning it this long and keeping all the records, but at 90 years old most people couldn't even get into an NSX (or out) let alone still drive it w/ a 6MT.
My dad is 86 and can still get in and out of the 944 and drive stick, but he for sure is not a gearhead like your NSX guy.
Congrats.

Wow, it's beautiful. It's sort of a Christmas miracle.........I mean the perfect car, the perfect seller, all the records and history, cool swag. Could it get any better than this? This sort of thing is what we all dream about, so it really can happen? It's Festivus for the rest of us.

Yeah that is funny -- if you didn't know, you really would never think "Honda" when you saw that car for the first time. I'll have to ask my wife her guess.
Seriously though, I'm so happy for you. There is so much cool about this story: the fact that it is a dream car, that it just worked out, that it was not the whole "meeting your heroes" thing already mentioned, and probably the best part of the story for me is how you seem able to wear your heart on your sleeve enough to where you're going to REALLY enjoy it! Makes me happy just reading about it!
Being a long time Elise lurker, I'm also curious how they'll stack up to one another.
Congratulations! That's the perfect color for the NSX. I got to drive one several times when I was selling Hondas years ago. What an awesome car!
Congrats! Nothing like achieving a long-held dream...and that's a really amazing previous owner.
NSXprime.com and GRM are two of the best car communities in the world-enjoy!
Congrats. That is my favorite color for those cars. I also know the giddy feeling of getting your dream car. I am three weeks in and I am still over the moon about it.
Congrats! Amazing car and sounds like an epic previous owner. I just recently acquired something like that on a smaller scale (my NC2 Miata).
I like the box of tissues. Let's figure those are for runny noses, yes?
Congrats. Lots of us can live vicariously through your acquisition.
Congrats! These are just beautiful cars. One of the PCA guys brings one to the track sometimes, with a custom supercharger etc. I always have to go up and talk to him about it, I'd love to have one! Sadly they've always been out of reach for me, maybe one day....

Thank you Doc! 993 TT S is my jam but can't seem to get one of those. The NSX will have to do. I almost pulled the trigger on a 996 GT3, as amazing as it drove, just didn't speak to me visually.
CTSC would be amazing. Not sure I have the coin after getting this. Will have to enjoy it as is for a while.

1000% I definitely bought the owner and not the car! I asked him why not give it to his kids. He mentioned he was into boat racing, and gave a very expensive boat to his daughter. Within one week she SOLD it! He lamented that she just wanted the boat for the $. I told him I am afraid my cars will maybe see the same fate when I am ready to croak.
He said "well since I can't really drive a stick shift much, I will sell the NSX now, and drive the LC500. I am not going to let my kids sell my NSX"
Every mile he has driven in the car was purposeful, whether goign to each NSXPO or traveling with his wife. They weren't wasted miles (are there any?), as he put it.
I saw a lot of myself in the owner. The passion just oozed out of him. The nerdiness. Funny thing is he wouldn't telling me how garbage British cars are and his hatred for Porsche.
It was just nice talking to a real car guy. Someone who doesn't care about status, money, cars and coffee or instagram, but is genuinely passionate about things automotive.
He asked me, randomly, if my house was paid off. It came out of left field. I told him, yes, and when I paid it off. He said he bought his in 1959 and paid it off in 1963. Then he proceeded to show me that he paid cash $91,373 for the NSX in 1999.
Conversations went to many places.... many subjects.. kindred soul.. we just sat in his garage and talked... I certainly wish my dad was here to see the delivery day... he rode a 929CBR RR up till ihs 72nd bday.
Sorry guys - too much emotional talk.. but much appreciated for you guys allowing me to share.

Thank you so much!! This is a NSX thread - no airing of grievances

Agree, when you think "Honda" people won't think NSX. We got a thumbs up from a guy in a Ford Aerostar and a kid in a BRZ.
Thank you so much for the nice words! Yeah I will definitely appreciate it, enjoy it, and hope to make memories with my family as PO has been able to.
I love the Elise. I have had it 17 years, since new. I did cross country, so many trips, so many great memories, and I continue to build it. Has been dead reliable, and a perfect car. Maybe I got a good one. Initial impression is NSX is a lot easier to get in and out. Feels like a Rolls Royce inside comparatively (my boss recently got a new Spectre).
I will write a longer review, once I have the NSX in possession. My EVO has been a 4 door Elise and has been enjoyed.
The NSX feels like a better MR2 Turbo to me (so far). It doesn't have the buttress and short rear window like the NSX< since the engine is under a bigger glass, but it feels more grown up, if you can say that.
I am looking forward to providing some real world reviews of the cars...
All my neighbors with Rivians and Taycans think I am nuts...
Let me know what your wife thinks!

Thanks! Yes NSXprime, GRM, and Ih8mud are my fave forums, and I truly enjoy them, and have made life long friends. I used to spend time on Lotustalk, but people have dispersed over the years as has MR2 forums that Bill Strong had.

Dean,
Maybe I don't know how to use GRM, but I really wish there was a button where I could find your threads. I had to click through your posts, pages and pages, and found the M5! What a glorious machine. Glad you got the dream ride. It looks like a beauty.
