Long haired people: How do you protect your hair when wrenching?

I worked with a guy that was using a 1/2 drive impact with a long extension to remove transmission bell housing  bolts. The air blew his hair up and around the extension which caught and twisted it. He stopped it and asked someone to help. The helper suggested reversing the impact, which he did and pulled hair and scalp from his head.

I don't have long hair but I have caught my beard under a creep wheel (even that plastic one) and smacked the ground before. I am not smarter for having done that.

many years of pinching beard hairs in zippers and various other things has cuased me to maintain a slightly less, um, lengthy beard lately.  That and it's berking hot!
