Dad's putting his RV in mothballs, could be a year or two. Whats the best way to store a diesel? Its a big Cummins in the back a motorhome. Climate is somwhat damp (north Georgia) It's already sat for nearly a year without any "storage" proceedures. Neither of us has owned an oil burner before. Doesn't the fuel gel up or get something growing in it? Gross!!

It can, but there are any number of diesel fuel stabilizers out there. Just stick some of that stuff in there and run it long enough to get the stuff into the lines. Then just do all teh storage procedures you'd do for anything else, ie under cover if at all possible, get the weight off the tires if you can, drain all the water and holding tanks, etc etc etc...
