Oh plans for this are to turn it into a track car so some things might just be left alone. I kept the civic and will continue to keep it until my second child is born then I'll most likely get a used truck or suv that can tow via trade in on the Si. First modifications are going to be Ford Racing suspension package (shocks/struts/springs, sway bars, panhard, and some other little things), carbotech xp10s, some new rotors, and maybe an axleback.
Approved.
...and now the fun begins.
Since this is a track car, would you rule out an independent rear suspension? I also find it very odd for someone to have a 7 year old car sit for an extended period of time.

FL + sporty domestic + rarely driven = OLD PEOPLE.
Welcome to the herd. I had to reglue the red door panels on mine. Twice. Its a PITA. I recommend the black 3M weatherstrip adhesive. The Super77 spray only lasted six months.
I'm assuming it was a good deal monetarily? I'd love a Mustang of this vintage to play with.
Great score !
After you go through the brakes and mechanicals, be sure to swap out the links on the front sway bar. They fail quite a bit, FORD offers a revised design to "solve" the original problematic set-up.
Just had mine done in the '07, WELL worth it. Drives like a different car.
For some strange reason, I can't stop thinking that this style of Mustang would look great set up for rallycross with a set of meaty all-terrain tires.
You mean like the meaty tires on it already lol? The guy I bought it from was a Korean war vet, Navy Frogman, 3 time purple heart recipient, navy cross recipient, badass old man. Had colon cancer and just had it removed and thats why it sat.
Very good deal monetarily. $8k less than blue book and nada value, clean carfax, etc.
Mudflaps are going to be first to go. The door leather...I bought some 3M adhesive not the super 77, and some alacantra. Cut the material and sprayed on and it lasted a while. I wonder if wallpaper adhesive would work haha. My wife and I decided to try and flip first go track car second. If we can't make a certain amount over our initial investment then we'll keep it for track car. It's beautiful and my mom is almost willing to trade me it for her C6 Z51

I didn't realize Mustang build quality had caught up to the 3-series already...

Except wider...And taller...And much knobbier.
Haha. I was going to swap the civic wheels onto it and those onto the civic see how goofy they both look.
Do it!...But posting the pics of them is non-optional.

Really like that color combo. I didn't even know red leather was an option on those.

Do IT! Make the trade!
That does not seem like a very fair trade..................for your Mom!
