That looks a LOT like the Ghia that was run in the 2k8 Challenge..... Hrm. S'pose a lot of VW's were that color then.

I hope it is. It is the first time I have ever bought a car with out seeing it or asking for more pictures.
Yes it was a fairly common color. It is called pacific blue and is my personal favorite on Ghias.
I also didn't say that I am trading the zwitter for it. I really like the zwitter but this is the car I want.
I didn't say it to see if anybody would figure it out, but this car is the original Ghia. I have been on and off looking for a Karmann Ghia to rebuild mine. Yesterday my dad and I were talking about the Ghia and I decided that I was going to try and find it or buy a new one. I found a 1964 in Indiana that was listed a week ago. When I opened the add I thought wow it looks just like my old one. I then saw the hole in the deck lid and the Steuben badge and realized it was my old one.
The wheels are Rostyle aka sa sprint stars. They are my favorite wide-5 wheel. The supercharger went with the car and the engine dropped a valve. The judson is now on a restored 1960 ragtop. The interior that I bought for the car is now installed. The car then got a 1600 and then sat. It is in the same condition with nothing changed from when I sold it.
My plans for the car include deciding what I want to do for an engine (vintage speed or something big). I also want to re-do the carpet and cover the back seat. It still has the horrible bondo on the rockers (only non-og paint) that I would like to fix. I think I am going to get it running for the summer take it to the challenge and then do rust work next winter. My 1 main regret about selling the car was I didn't really drive it that much.
If you look at the pic you can see the mark above the grill and the fading on the hood. It is also in the new pic.
Hah! I figured it out in the other thread:
i saw the paint on the frunklid and knew it was your old car....
I'm going to have to ask you to end this thread before any more pictures of Ghias are posted. You're seriously weakening my already-compromised resistance. Don't make me buy one of these, please!
You'll need to log in to post.
