OK, so it was so rusted out I'm shocked it didn't crumble and blow off the trailer. But I was still happy to see it.
I'd love on. Just not that one.
First up on my behicle purchase list is something to pull a trailer for going to fetch other cars though

Sonett
The most commonly misspelled word on e-Bay.

I'm pretty sure "Scirroco" owns that title.
Sonnnnnnettttttt III to be precise (I'm not getting into a spelling row... )
the 2nd gen version was.... hmmm, how can I put this.... an ulgy amorphous that only its designer and SAAB fans could love
the 1st gen was actually not a horrible looker... must be why they changed it!

You ever search for a Zamboni?

That's the plan I'm trying to follow through with. Let's see how long that'll last until I get distracted by something shiny on CL.

That's actually stage #2 of my "plan". Stage one is fix up the garage. I'm on the "get more electricity to the garage" stage right now. having just finished the clean up previous owners messes on the floor as well as possible.
I'm sorta looking for a roadmaster for towing duties, but until the new puppy gets a bit older traveling to get one worth buying is tricky to schedule.
Goals before cold weather hits 1) Garage floor/insulation/electricals/lighting. 2) Garage heat 3) Tow vehicle 4) Trailer
Somewhere in there is a beater bike to get working over the winter for the wife.
THEN I can start worrying more about fun cars.

Yeah. There'd still be a shell there I guess. And the (remaining) glass would still be there. But it's too bad none of the underside pictures turned out. I don't think I've ever seen so much rust on something that still resembled a car. (thanks to the non-rusting body) The fact that it could still (sort of) sit on it's wheels without collapsing shocked me.

Well, it looks like I need the tow vehicle first, once we got that and I got a job somewhere, we can look for a house with a garage. Then it might be time to think about a fun vehicle...
if it's rusted out THAT bad, I'd say it's quite likely to be a PITA to keep as a somewhat-factory-design Sonett III. given that...
remove engine from front
place engine in rear & build chassis around it
?
profit!
alternately, if the Ford V4 fit at the front, keep it, figure out a small 5 speed manual that'll bolt up to a Ford Taunus bellhousing, order one, and make the car front engine RWD and hooliganize

Or find a 2.6, or 2.8 Ford V6(I'm pretty sure these have the same bell mounts as the V4) and really embarrass the competition
There was one of these on the Memphis CL about 3 weeks ago, the seller was asking $700. According to the ad (no pix, unfortunately) the floor pans were badly rusted. The ad only ran once so I guess it sold or the seller gave up.
I really like those wheels tho if I found a Sonnett, I'd probably want to (try to) convert to V6 power. Heck, the Cologne V4 and V6 should both bolt up to the transaxle...if there's room enough under the hood for the extra cylinders.

I do wonder how many Camero tattoos there are in the world.
Ah yes, a typical Sonett thread
Step 1: Spell Sonett as Sonnet
Step 2: Talk about inserting V6 to make it fast
Step 3: Owner passes out when he gets prices for replacement sheetmetal
We're almost there!
