I positively hate my Honda with a burning passion(lemon), and with the latest new crop of issues with it, I'm ready to cut and run. A local dealer has a 9xk mile '99 Legacy GT wagon 5MT on their lot in my price range(cheap!), so I'm off tommorrow to look at it. Anything in particular to look for? I've got a fair amount of Subaru experience, so I know to check this one out for headgasket failures(the dreaded DOHC Phase 1 EJ25, ack!), clutch shudder, rear wheel bearings, 02 sensors, so on and so forth. Am I missing anything?

My sunroof doesn't work, so you'll want to check for it to operate correctly.
Biggest problem I had with mine was a whiney transmission. I think that would be pretty obvious.
I miss it sometimes for the utility, but the fuel econ with my 2.2 5-spd AWD waggin was absolutely heinous.
Also make sure the timing belt has been done.

Not sure about the 1999 Legacy, I have the current version.
Piston ringland failures have been reported on some cars. Mine uses a quart every 2000 miles, 2005 LGT 5MT wagon with 55k miles. I suspect it might be that. Did UOA, checked out fine, runs great, so I am just going to feed its habit for now.
Heated seats don't heat.
Other than that, a fantastic car, very fast, handles well, and lots of aftermarket stuff. Go to legacygt.com for lots more info, it is THE site for this car.
