Pass on both. New loti are dead to me since they made a decision to go fatter and upmarket. Old one might be kinda cool, but I'm not hip on the looks.from the rear of the doors back.

Old school. Like me in general. I even like the Renault-powered ones.

would have been a harder choice between Original Europa and the new Elise

There was a new Europa? How come this is the first I'm hearing of it? Looks like it would fit between the Elise/Exige and Evora in size, just what I want for a dd. From what I can see it didn't make it to market though. Too bad. Of course I'd have to wait for used prices to come down though.

It has been in production since Sept 2006, but not exported to US market because the Opel/Vauxhall-built turbo it utilizes is not certified to meet emissions requirements.

Wiki on the Europa S

The Dodge Circuit (electric concept) is based on it. I've heard conflicting reports that the Tesla sits on either a Europa or Elise chassis.

The old one has grown on me over time. At first, I thought it was simply ugly. Now I still think it's ugly, but admire it as a design born from purpose.

It's kinda hard to say. They're too different, really. I'm kinda with Mad Machine. Depends on if I have to drive it to work, or just have fun.

I've always loved the way the old Europa looked. I've probably told the story of the first time I saw one at an SCCA show-off deal in a shopping mall and the owner let me sit in it. That made quite an impression on 13 year old me.

Had a 74 big valve and loved it but would go with new for the modern chassis and suspension. Rather have an Exige, though.
