Hey Guys,

So I did I track/cross this weekend.  Autocross setup on a 1.2 mile track.  I worked on my trail and hard braking.  Definite smell of cooked brakes, and I was able to catch the car every time she wanted to break loose.  I would still say that these brake pads are better than what I had before, which were only napa upgrades, but def no "wow" factor.  One guys who was there has an older (90's) cobra which has newer brake upgrades that are huge.  The car is the design before the new edge.  I think I had him by at least three seconds, but I feel I am a better driver.  I hope he isn't reading this!  The other mustang was a new edge Bullitt that had been gone through--the guy was pretty serious.  He also had hoosiers that stuck out of the car.  He beat me by two seconds.

Frustratingly I have not run with my normal crowd since I started this thread.  Some of the guys I run with have very close times to mine.  That will give me more information.

I will of course let you know when I run with them in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks!

Eventually you will want to do the upgrade even if it's doesn't necessarily lead to a higher finishing position. With that said I'd soldier on until you can get a benchmark, bigger brakes isn't going to net you 2 seconds. Hoosiers will but not the brakes, I'm a big fan of Hoosiers...........my wallet isn't though.

Hey Guys,

So I had my first auto cross today with my "normal" group.  I was able to beat someone with a much nicer/newer mustang.  It wasn't amazing, but he has been creeping into my times and consistently beating my by less than a second.  Today I was on top by a second.  I am working on my braking and trying to use these upgrades for sure.

So, so far they have made a difference.

Thanks for your input, I'll keep you posted as the season continues.

I just picked up a 2007 Mustang this week and got a set of GT500 Brembos with rotors and pads for $250.
