My BIL has a low mileage NB Miata he is going to be listing for sale. I know used prices are crazy, but my knowledge on NBs is slim-none. Here are the details and some pics:
1999 Miata, 69,xxx miles, leather package and popular equipment package with torsen limited slip. New tires, battery, and rear shocks. TB/WP done in the last few thousand miles. Clean title. No wrecks. Newer top with zip down rear window.
He's in PA and keeping the MGB.
I would argue it depends a lot if it's rust free or "PA rust free". Gut feeling says around $7500 right now with the mileage and if it's really rust free and looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. Probably more, although zip out rear window suggests it's got the "wrong" roof.

Thanks man. Rust free. Garage stored in the cold months by him and the PO.
Current season and time. 8K-8500. Not many people are thinking convertible right now.
Late April, You may get 5 digits for it with today's pricing.
Is there a scuff below the passenger's side headlight or is it just reflections? That could make a big difference.
A lot of Miatas in the nasty parts of the country hibernate, so you can find low mileage, rust free examples. They usually go together. This one should be worth a good chunk of change, given the lack of damage to the leather seats and a decent spec.
I'd be looking at completed eBay auctions for selling prices. You can check KBB etc, but they may be lagging behind the market.
I would definitely wait until Spring has properly sprung, that will bump up the value. I think right now you'd have to discount the price for someone to basically trailer it home and lay it up for the next 3-4 months.
If it's as clean and straight as it looks in the pics, I'm betting $10k in the spring. Less now.
In reply to bmw88rider :
I don't know if that is a scuff or not, those are just the pics he sent.

It's not a need to sell now, but they are looking at moving within the state and have the MGB and their DDs. I assume it would make the move easier to have one less car to hassle with and free up some cash.
Not much to add to the replies above, spring will certainly bring a greater pool of buyers and prices for a clean example like this would reflect that.
I'm in the market for an NB (located in Virginia), if they want to move it soon I'm very interested.
Very clean. I like it quite a bit. It's hard to imagine but 7.5-10 is probably right depending on timing and patience.
I haphazardly monitor Miata prices. Although I wouldn't expect it to sell for this on the first day, I wouldn't start below $10,000. Prices are crazy right now.
My friend just paid $9k for this 2001 with 35,000 miles.
I found four low mileage NBs locally (Michigan) and they're currently listed at $7500-$9000 and I would expect that to increase come late March.

$10k was my first thought for an asking price too. It's nicer than average, that counts for a lot. I wouldn't expect this to sell to a track junkie, it's more likely to go to someone who understands that you spend less on a car that you pay more for :)

Keith makes a good point, and it brings to mind a (sort of) good thing about the high prices on the clean, low mileage cars, they're possibly less likely to get bought for installation of a set of cheap coilovers and slammed (IMO, ruined).
Whelp. I guess I was behind the curve on asking you guys. He listed it on FB for sale. Here is the link, which also explains some of the imperfections.

The front bumper scuff (main issue) and minor other interior and exterior details take it out of the top$ category in my opinion, probably $7-8k.
But in the current market, i'm going to say a bidding war to $14k, and the buyer turns around and flips it on BAT for $50k. Because that's the world we live in now :p.
I think he may be a little high with that scuff. Considering how shiny the rest of the car is, that probably can't be buffed out and needs a repaint. But who knows.
It looks like a clean car otherwise and someone may be able to over look that for that price.
Slight hijack...
What is a decent price for a '99 NB with 90k miles? It's a southern car with a fresh timing belt, radiator, and other maintenance looks to be up to date. It has what looks to be decent British Racing Green paint and tan soft top.
Anything NB specific that I should be looking for other than typical used car or convertible problems? Wet trunk, rust, missing bits, disconnected wiring, cracked hoses...
This thread reminded me to call my insurance agent and bump up the coverage on my Miata....

The 99 and 2000 units had issues with the coil packs at the back of the head failing prematurely, but that will be very obvious.
