Which generation Miata? I have not installed NRG seats on mine but having that info will help you get better responses. Is NRG side or bottom mount? I had a Momo bottom mount on my previous NB a number of years ago and seating position was equal or higher than OEM.

I had an ancient first gen Sparco Sprint that I modified to work with the stock sliders on my NA. Less padding so it dropped me about 1"

Which Miata and which seat?

Almost any aftermarket seat installed on stock sliders will be higher than the stock seats.

Yeah, it's surprisingly difficult to get lower than stock, especially stock with a foamectomy (NA/NB).

Which is why Lotus seats command such a premium in used market. Comfort-wise they are not the greatest but you can sit quite a bit lower than stock.

Foamectomy goes a long way on stock seats but I wish someone comes up with a aftermarket seat pan to lower it even further.

I think newold_m was referring to the bottom seat pan, not a floor kit.

Probably easier to remove the mounts on the tub. You're already awfully close to the floor and I suspect that would pretty much put you there with a stock seat. Mazda did not put the driver very high. Besides, the bottom of the seat isn't exactly removable.

I did once see a reference to a change in the H point in early production. I need to ask Norm Garrett about that one someday.
