saw this from the Lemons last weekend and noticed the GRM sticker. IHROM nominee
It was a MR2
I don't know what an IHROM nominee is, but I like it!
Notice all the cancer in the rear fenders. Who knows what kind of shape it was in before being made a Lemons car. Looks to me like it was plucked from the grave for a few last chances of racing greatness.

I can't find a photo but a guy I used to autocross with had something like that. Every season he'd find more and more bits to sawzall away. Everything fore and aft of the shock towers was gone, the radiator was lying flat where the passenger seat floor used to be, and all the detachable body panels were AWOL. He kept the roof for structural reasons as IIRC it didn't have a cage. It was known eventually the MR0.7. Any of you Ontario folk have a pic of Bill Richardson's car?

I love it. But now all I can think of is some group of purists crying over how someone "desacrated an irriplacable legendary performance car" that was obviously in really bad shape in the first place(ie. bed linered golf/A4, dune bugy lexus)

I've seen pics of that car. Wasn't it called stumpy? Was crazy fast from what I remember hearing.
I owned my '88 MR2 SC from about '00-'04. During that time frame there was a very similar, chopped off, MR2 SC that used to run in modified autocross classes in the Akron, OH region with the Akron Sport Car Club. I used to have pictures of it, but that was 3 computers ago. I never saw the chopped car in person but from what I hear, it was very fast!
