After much drinking and a little thought, I realized that the next, 2.0L engine for my Daewoo will have no accessories on the front side. The AC is going in the dumpster cause it doesn't work anyway and the powersteering won't make it back either. I have to do something with this space.

I was originally thinking of running a 2.25 inch pipe straight from the lower edge of the manifold (it's a tri-Y design cast manifold stock) to the passenger's side where the AC used to be and out in front of the tire. However, I got to thinking some more and wondered if I could just build something old school like this?

There's no way I can do those cool scalloped and awesome welds like you see on modern headers, so making a modern header is kind of out of the question. But, if I make an old school header, that's definitely within the scope my my skills and equipment and I think it would take quite a bit of weight off the nose.

So, is this smart or stupid?

You could see what's inexpensively available for a similar application (Honda?), then just make some minor mods to fit. Most of the hard work will already have been done. Another option would be to go to the wreckers, look at some stock manifolds, and see if there's anything suitable. Hyundai has a very header looking manifold on one of it's 4 dr sedans (I know, every Hyundai is a 4 dr sedan)

If you are making a header anyway, why not make one you can bolt a turbo to?
