Making/buying a hitch fir an escort

Anyone ever build on for an escort? We are about to make on for mine, and I thought I'd see if anyone had any last minute advise. Or had one for sale!

There was one on my '91 EGT, reese maybe?.

Sadly, it was scrapped. You might try posting a WTB on feoa.net.

A google search on 'ford escort trailer hitch' turns up a number of sources, including Reese and Draw Tite brands. Looks like a new hitch is in the $150 range.

Uhual can set you up. Work car I had was a 95 escort wagon with a uhaul hitch.

Ive seen the ones for sale, but was hopeing for a cheapy used one...

Joel, I think I've got a hitch for a VW Golf in the garage. If you measure the center-to-center distance of the Escort's frame rails I can see if it comes close. Warren

FWIW - and totally off topic - I have a nose mask/bra from my 94 EGT(that I got rid of in 97!). I'll give it away to whoever comes & gets it or will pay for shipping.

Cool, I appreciate that. It will be a good source of steel for the project, even if we have to do some modifying.

Joel, it's about 27 inches wide. It drop down 7" from the mounting face. It's also asymetrical, the ball is about 9.5" from the passenger side. It's constructed from 1/2 x 2 flat bar and chromed.
