So I was in DC over the holidays staying near the Mall...that's the monuments and Capitol and White House with family, 5 of us to be exact and after looking up car rental and parking fees we decided to go with carless.

Worked well, we used Lyft and Taxis most of the time, but we wanted to visit the Air and Space museum 25 miles away in Virginia.

Enter Maven, yes it's GM, but it was neat to locate a lot next to the hotel we were in, decide on the length of time I wanted the vehicle, and what one I wanted, options and prices were from $8/hr for a 2016 Cadillac ATS to $12 for a 2017 GMC Acadia, to $14 for a 2017 Chevy Suburban, and $20 for a 2016 Cadillac Escalade...which is what I picked to move 5 adults around in cause vacation. It was New, not rental beat as it has 1600 miles on it and the service includes gas so pretty cool to not have to do anything but drive. The key was my smartphone so it came with charge cords, so no problems there.

I really liked the concept for urban travel where you need occasional access to a car but don't want to waste time or money dealing with a full rental.
