am I the only one that wonders why videos of these mega-power cars are always of the car on a dyno, rather than actually doing anything? It's like people build them just to "say" that they have a 1000hp car or whatever, and then just trailer them to dyno days and car shows....

Yeah, dyno-queens are lame. But the car in the original post is still pretty freakin' cool.

I mean, just look at this - Awesome .

I'd love to see it tearing up a hill-climb course.

Old joke told to me by a Supra owner:

What do a 600 hp Supra and an 1000 hp Supra have in common?

They both run 11s.

There's videos of that car running the quarter mile somewhere... this particular shop doesn't build stuff just to be dyno queens. They run (and break) their cars.

I need to e-mail the owner: "I'm sorry about that tumor growing on your hood. I know a good doctor who can cut it out for you"

I would bet these cars are doing mile runs, like this- http://www.texasmile.net/

If they are actually running them and doing good.. then lots and lots of props.. but most supras I see seem to be more on the poseur side of the HP equation

Pretty much the same concept at this. When I was looking at Hot Rod magazine back in the 70's, cars like this seemed way cooler than something tasteful. Of course, than I hit double digits in age and got over all that.

Wow. Is that ever going to stink when it blows up.

you know Otto... I never equated the turbo through the hood to the V8 with the blower sticking through the hood.

you are absolutely right
