What do you get that special someone on their 35th anniversary? Traditionalists say coral, the more modern crowd says jade, but if you are Mazda, you offer an all-new limited-edition model.
2025 marks the 35th anniversary of the Miata, and Mazda is celebrating with the 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary.
Based on a Grand Touring MX-5 and available only with …

That color combo feels very late 80s early 90s, so good job there.
Does kinda feel a bit old-man colors, though?
It looks like a throwback to the 1995 M Edition "peanut butter & jelly".
I remember the first time my Dad and I saw a Miata back in 1989. We didn't recognize the badge on the nose, but right away we knew it was something new and special. All these years later and it still it's still just as special--a little gem of a sports car in a sea of SUVs.

They did a good looking NB special edition in purple too
The more purple cars on the road, the better!

100%, it's a 1995 M, 30 years later. And a 2000 SE, 25 years later.
It's not a bright sports car color, but the M editions never were. They were the grown up Miatas. At least it's a color and not Prosthetic Limb Mica.
I was looking at the website and saw this - I love the color.
It's about time Mazda started making special editions of the Miata.

I saw the car in the flesh/metal. Maybe call it a modern take on a familiar theme?
Starting price $36,250. With only 300 available stateside, ending price will be $50,000 (or more) thanks to the dealers. Thanks Mazda.

I prefer the orange 30AE
Mazda has several Miatas on display at Daytona this weekend, including an orange 30AE. This one has a very different vibe. Not saying one’s better or not, but different takes on an anniversary.

Yup. If you're going to revisit one of your special editions, it's a good one.
Lower it a tick and we have a winner, right?

That's the first thing I thought but then again I own one.
Love that colour combo and it looks like they combined the best parts of the GT and the Club.
If I wasn't expecting a bunch of shenanigans I might be tempted to hit up the local Mazda dealer, but I suspect that the guesstimate of a large dealer markup is likely isn't going to be too far removed from reality.
In reply to BoxheadTim :
The best stuff from the Club (Bilsteins and LSD) got integrated into the GT a couple of years ago IIRC. They became an option in 2019, under the short-lived GT-S moniker, now standard. You can't get the Name Brand Package (Brembo/BBS/Recaro) in the GT, nor does it get the track mode traction control setting. But otherwise, the GTs are basically Clubs with luxe.
Am I bad at math? 1989 + 35 does not seam to be 2025.
In reply to dean1484 :
First year model was a 1990, so base your math on that. We'll ignore the fact that the 30AE came out in 2019 and the 10AE in 1999, but the 25AE was a 2015.
One of my 1990s will celebrate its 35th birthday in April. Another of them will celebrate its 36th that same month.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
So the cars I saw in 89 were 90s?

And my 99 was built in April of 98. :)

I like it. I really miss my 10AE. Easily my favorite car that I've owned.

They were. There are no 1989 model Miatas in North America. Kinda like how any Corvette you bought in 1983 was a 1984.
I think it has to do with the first Jan 1st the car is on sale.
I've been a longtime fan of Merlot Mica, and this looks excellent in the pictures!
But seriously, 300? Why?!
