Cool, I might grab a used wheel if I can and give it a shot. I asked Dynotronics if this is something that i can have him program in if I were to get the ECU upgrade.

Yeah, for 500 dollars...

I agree that is steep but if I can get a junkyard touring wheel cheap, I like this better than crappy aftermarket cruise for 300 dollars
So with the cold weather finally upon us I have noticed that the 2 feels as if it has a bit more nut to it, which has me thinking if a CAI would be a reasonable mod. Has anyone installed one that can provide some feedback?
I'm curious about the same thing too. I've noticed how much of a difference there is with the A/C on and off, so I'd guess the CAI would do something similar. The Corksport one is relatively cheap too. I also like that they have a duct thingy which clicks into the stock intake plastic and makes your engine bay look factory at first glance, which would be a good thing here in CA...
So in case it was a burning question for anybody, the 2 does pretty decently in the snow, even lowered by a bit.

Lol those are actually my ski boots. (Put them down so I could take a pic without having to knock the snow off the hatch haha.)
After reading through this thread I've started looking and pricing the 2. I like it but I don't know if I want to get into the car payment thing again. Loving the black reminds me of my old Civic.

Drive one. I'm still having a blast with mine & I too didn't want another car payment.
Ugh, those chains wrecked the paint on my front wheels. I guess I have to plasti-dip them now. Any thoughts from anybody on color? OEM-style silver isn't really possible.
Here's my idea, lol:
911 GT3 RS inspired haha.
I like everything on that picture but the lipstick. It's a bit too much.
I've started going through old Mazda pictures on the web looking for some 80's style graphics. Mazda was a crazy stickering company back in the day.
Yeah, it's kind of overkill. I really mocked up that livery as a joke though. I even made "2RS" fender decals but the way Forza works, I couldn't get them placed right. The "lipstick" looked a lot better when I had a diffuser and canards etc on the front too, as seen here:
I'm really tempted to do this now, but I better get some performance mods finished so I'm not a total ricer rolling around.
fidelity101 wrote: You can run chains but not studs by you?
Yeah, that's how CA is. It doesn't snow anywhere except high in the mountains, and even they don't get consistent snow, so the only people with snow tires are full-time mountain residents and even they can't run studs because the roads are clear and dry often enough during the winter. The rest of the population is on all-seasons or worse, and many have zero snow driving experience, so CalTrans makes you run chains unless you're in an AWD with snow tires on all four wheels.
Michigan regulates it by the county, its still basically illegal in most counties but up north it is legal for "severe weather conditions"
also, I made my mazda2 in forza as well, but got bored ended up making rwd drift car because it was funny.
Has anybody installed a set of stainless brake hoses on their 2 yet?
This options seems like a good deal. http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-0927.html
Goodridge also offers them at double the price.
In reply to MA$$hole: I'm going to try to get a test drive in a 2 on the weekend. Let you know how it goes. Subie is starting to smell like burnt coolant....
In reply to MA$$hole:
I'm not going to tempt myself with those until mine are in need of being replaced.
In reply to fidelity101:
Seeing as I had done all my mods prior to the first oil change it may be best that I do more mods for the 2nd oil change.
Hey, I remember one of you guys had an adaptor that let you control an aftermarket stereo from the steering wheel without "breaking" the INFO button. What model was it? I'm thinking about getting one of the Pioneer AppRadios once they release the iPhone5 adaptor but I need to figure out if I can keep my buttons working with one.
In reply to Max_Archer:
Max, your info shouldn't be affected since it's in the cluster. I posted an image on one of these pages with the head unit I installed. There was a steering wheel connector installed as well & I still have all my info items showing up.

The reason I ask is because many of the adaptors (including the one Corksport sells IIRC) make the INFO button on the wheel itself stop responding, so you can't cycle through info screens and are stuck on whatever was set before installing the wheel adaptor. It's pretty well documented and yours is the only one I know of that doesn't cause this problem, so I definitely want to get the same one.
