Its not an issue about rear drums for racing. But put 4 people in it and drive around. You want that extra brake force then

It's sad seeing a moth and a half since there was activity here!
I threw some $25 yellow Hella Optilux fog light bulbs on the 2 a few days ago. It's insane how much brighter they are than the stock ones. I'll take some pics soon and post 'em.
Well, I have been using mine as a delivery vehicle and it has been awesome. I can glide around town getting around 34 mpg. Also, got a sweet beaded cover for the seat I need to install.
I did take second in the SCCA Rallycross National Challenge event a couple of months ago in my 2. This proves that the car is still quite competent even with a ham fisted driver. I've also offered up my car to a a few co-drivers the last two rallycross events and everyone has come away very impressed with the car. One regular Subaru driver couldn't stop talking about how easy it is to get the car to do what you want on dirt.
I also flipped 20K miles last weekend while driving back from the MotoGP races at COTA. It can be hard to find a tiny silver car in a giant parking lot.
I really think the new Street rules for SCCA autocross are going to be good for the 2. The less grip you have the better the car is, so driving it on R-comps was never going to be good for it. In contrast the Mini was fantastic with very high levels of grip. I still think the Mini will still be the car to have in HS, but I'm hoping things will be closer. We should get a better PAX too.

33k. here. Just done oil changes and tires (didnt need to do tires but come on!)
Monday I may trade it in for an 09 rx8 though...
I hated getting edged out by .3 seconds by the minis in RTF-HS alphabet soup nonsense class. Now I can stomp on some mustangs :) (if I get the car)
I learned last week that bigger wheels, lowering springs, and 5 people equal a rough hour long drive. I do believe some wheel weights have gone missing from numerous times bottoming out.
Here are some pics of the Optilux yellow fog bulbs on my 2. Much easier than tinting and they're a big brightness improvement over stock.

Those Sparcos are a great match for the car. I think I've seen you on Mazdas24/7, right?
I need to get the 2 aligned & balanced in the coming weeks. Car has Racing Beat springs that mildly lower it, as well as 15x7 TR Motosports wheels wrapped in 205/50/15s. I will be installing a set of SPC camber bolts before bringing it in. Does anyone have any alignment specs to go off of? Mainly street use, with maybe a monthly Autocross.

Yup, I hang around there a lot.
I love those yellow fog bulbs. I should get some myself, I have yellow Lamin-X, but the light output isn't so great, and it doesn't even look yellow. Yours look amazing though.

Andy Hollis recommended zeroing the toe a while back when I was talking about it, I think he said it helps make up for the loss in steering response that you get from the wider stance with low-offset wheels.

I thought about doing Lamin-X or something as well, but these Optilux ones showed up at Pep Boys like a week and a half ago for $25 and it was a no-brainer. The store I was at was out of H-11s so I had to drive to a different one, but it was worth it.
For those discussing it I have the Lamin-x plus some knock off yellow fog light bulbs. Together they work great & offer a clean look & a nice contrast in light output.

I dont know why i still get to be the first to say this after several days, but that picture is awesome , and congrats on the good finish!

Aftermarket HVAC knobs. You can get them from Font Motorsports (in FL I think) or you can order them from China on eBay if you want to deal with that. I keep meaning to get some but I have higher priority things to drop $50 on.
