My son recently purchased a one owner Mazdaspeed Protege. There's one issue with it. There's an occasional short which we believe is in the wiring harness. Sometimes it blows the ECM fuse and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it blows when turning the key on and sometimes we can drive it for miles. It's very apparent that someone has monkeyed around with the harness trying to fix it. My question is, is the Mazdaspeed harness any different than any other Protege from the same generation and how hard is it to swap out? Everything under the hood is easy to get to but I'm worried about the difficulties after it goes thru the firewall. I'd rather just swap it out instead of going thru it wire by wire.
