We close at 7, was going to walk across the street to watch the final portion of the race.
My wife and daughter are sick, so I'm heading home. Good luck, and thanks for the updates.

Wow! That was an awesome stint. As our photographer just said: “I saw you pass just about everybody.” Our car is gooooooood in the rain, and we consistently picked up 15 seconds per lap to catch second in class.
Wayne just hopped in with a fresh tank of gas, hoping for a podium finish!
Ed just went out after our last pit stop of the day. Looks like P2 in our class is out with a mechanical failure, so we’re expecting to move up a position shortly.
I love Daytona, to finish first you must first finish and endurance racing can be grueling. It's not what you got its what you bring.
Where did you finish in the race? Who won?
Good job surviving!
How'd you lose so many laps, what issues did you face?
Watching the live stream and trying to keep up with everyone was difficult with all the weather interruptions!
I want this SO Badly I am Squirming in my seat Just reading this.
Looks like the car that won the class can run 10 seconds a lap Faster... Is that Normal 'Grouping'.

There is no real grouping... it's based on engine size and is pretty arbitrary. The smallest engine sizes have won a bunch of races and the largest engine sizes rarely do.
In other words, there is only 1 set of rules for ALL cars, and an overall podium.
There can be a huge difference in laptime between the slowest and fastest even within the same "class".
I think I saw there was a team that did a 2:13 in the race and the slowest I saw was around 2:35.

Pete
It was a VW Bug all decked out in aero and Martini livery. It was one of the cooler looking cars there, but it was also one of the slowest.

Thanks! We finished in 46th overall. We didn't really have many major issues. Our wastegate had some issues, but other than that we had a solid car the whole time. The weather was definitely an inconvenience with two red flags, but there's nothing anybody can do about that. That first place car was 20 laps ahead because, well, it was faaaaast. It was a convertible FC Mazda RX-7.
Cool.
BTW, that beetle is a center driving position car (if it the same car from WGI last year). It was a racecar in some other series and has some SERIOUS development.
46th and finishing at a track like Daytona is AWESOME for a Miata (even turbocharged).
Good Work!
P.S. FC's are a terrific platform for this type of racing.....
