It looks nice (the old ones did too, in my opinion), but it better drive better than the old Z4. I drove a Z4 SDrive3.0i and walked away immensely disappointed. All style, no substance.
I like the two different colored seats!
I hope it's not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was an all style and little substance car again.
Im kinda loving the splitter/airdam. And the rear is elegant and simple (which Im a big fan of). The headrests are pretty cool with the bodywork that comes up to meet them
It's just as good looking, if not better, than the previous gen. But If it ain't a coupe, I'm not interested.
BMW sold 10,398 total Z4s between 2012 and 2016.
This car is not relevant anymore. I'm shocked they built a successor.

Yeah, I guess I didn't realize they still made those.
OTOH, early Z4's are getting really cheap in my area, but that is a topic for another thread altogether.

That's because GRM'rs aren't buying them for sporting intentions.
Older folks that can afford a $60k convertible as a 2nd or 3rd car are buying them.

The coupe will be called Supra!
BMWs are starting to look good again over the last few years, almost all the Bangle mutagen has been worked out of the system.
I think that it looks sweet. Unfortunately, I always prefer the coupe models which somehow retain their value better than the ragtops.
I think it looks like the bastard child of a Pontiac Solstice and a Jaguar F-Type. Not a big fan, to be honest. But I didn't like the old Z4 either. Z3 is the only good BMW roadster IMO (and the Z8, but that's practically nonexistent).
I like it. I thought the last Z4 looked good too. If I was old, rich, and wanted a toy to cruise around it would be on the list.

I had a similar experience, completely underwhelmed after driving the car. Surprising that BMW would even bother with this segment anymore and bring this back....... especially with the Z4 name. Don't they usually want to distance them selves from a less than stellar reputation?
I knew an older gent of near 80 who traded a stock 2000 Miata for a nice 2008-ish Z4 immediately regretted it.
