I am pulling the head on an m104 benz 6 cylinder.  The internet says to pull it with the intake and exhaust manifolds attached, or one or the other.  I know its going to suck lifting it off, but I feel like keeping the manifolds on is only going to make it heavier and harder.  This is an all muscle event so weight is my enemy.  Any thoughts?

You need an engine hoist, otherwise you are going to damage car parts or yourself. I have pulled om603 diesel heads before and no way could even two people have gotten it unstuck and lifted it out of the engine bay by hand.
