The w210 I drove for 3 years had one solenoid fail but the transmission was reliable otherwise. The car was purchased from a small used car dealer, and idk yet what they are going to do. They have to get the smog test done (I was given a written guarantee it would pass or they would pay for repairs, and its required by state law that they do it), so I guess I will find out this week.
Hmm, not terribly surprised but they are saying the transmission module failed and I owe $600 for repairs I never gave them permission to do. I don't intend on paying but I really wish I didn't have to deal with this hassle. Used car dealers suck.
They put in writing they'd pay for repairs if it wouldn't pass smog. The issue it was having would've prevented any smog check.
