I'm curious about adding methanol injection to my 99 GMC Z71 4.8 for towing.
With premium now being 30 cents a gallon higher than 87, the thought of "on demand higher octane" sounds more appealing.
Any feedback from user's? About how long does the small engine bay container last?
What do you think higher octane will do for you?
Assuming your truck is stock, it's going to perform best running on 87 octane. Out of curiosity, what are you towing and how much does it weigh?

I have no experience with using methanol in a towing application, but we added it to my 94 Supercoupe. It added very little peak torque or hp, but past peak at high rpm, the blower makes a ton of heat, and that's when methanol really starts working. I think peak gain was only 6 hp, but at 6,000 rpm we picked up 40 hp and 40 lb-ft.
I run a 2-qt reservoir and it lasts quite a while on the street, but it goes fairly fast at the drag strip.
