Let's just say, it's not a rust free straight example. It's more work than I want to take on body work wise. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the enjoyable brain storming, and friendly back and forth. Back to working on my E36 track rat (until the next impulsive item comes along on CL)........

Would love to hear specifics about the chassis issues.

The V6 swap works very well.

I have a rebodied MGA with a 3.4 Camaro motor and T5 in it. (Its the car shown above) I have ~200 bhp and it results in pretty peppy beast.

I don't think the current owner is intentionally misrepresenting the car. I suspect from the correspondence with him, that restoring classic cars is not a common occurrence. He seems like a very nice older chap.

According to a previous owner, the body has a fair amount of filler over rust damage, that was just painted. Some other non-covered up rust is also present. He bought it for his wife (he has a number of other LBCs), but gave up on the title issues, and body work issues. He stripped a few of the parts off it (like the OD tranny) and then dumped it with a scrapper, one of those we buy junk cars people.

For someone trying to put together a cheap chump-car type racer, it might be worth the time. He wants it gone, if the couple of people that he is currently talking to don't take it, I suspect a couple of hundred would buy it. Since I already have an track day car in the fleet, my next car will need to fit the classic, worthy of the time / money gap in the current car roster.

It's probably got enough parts / glass etc., if someone with a GT wanted a parts car.

Yup, until Mr. Debbie Downer stepped in, this thing was just a little polish away from the Pinehurst Concours :-)
