I nearly bought a 986 Boxster S 18 months ago, but for some reason I just wasn't too keen on the way it felt to me and I ended up buying another NA Miata. Then again, it took me a few weeks to get comfortable with the 911 we had, so maybe it's just a matter of taking the time to get acquainted better.
Back when I had a lightly-modded AW11(1st-Gen) N/A MR2, I got in a battle with a 986 on the big track at Willow Springs and won. That was fun. I'd still rather have the Boxster than the AW11, though.
