We are doing a Challenge project that requires a little planning.

Looking for a CAD model of a Miata- NA or NB. Need the chassis, and most of the good stuff. Engine, pan, rails, firewall, suspension pickup points, cradle mounting points- the more the merrier.

An entire roller skate would be perfect!

Anyone know a source?  Accuracy counts.

Thanks for your help!

You guys know how to ship whale sperm. I thought this one would be easy for you!!  cheekycheeky

check the locost forums for some models of the engine and other bits but I have never seen a model of a complete miata..

GrabCad is a good place to start.  You might be able to find a surface model of the body or suspension subassembly probably not going to get the whole enchilada though.

The whole thing is a pretty tall order.

If you sign an NDA with the exocet guys and buy them a lot of beer maybe they will let you 'borrow' some geometry?

What about sharks with laser beams attached to their heads?

I'm pretty sure you'll max out innovation, execution, and presentation with that.

I found one for a MGB.

1991 miata, with no mechanical.

Might be worth checking out the ForZA and project cars modding forums. I'm not sure where those are these days but I can go look.

They may be scaled, but most of the important bits should be there, and there really isn't much difference between a race sim and race car these days with the laser scanning and all.

Who says I can’t do it??

Yes, I can scan it myself!

3dcadbrowser has several Miatas but they're just the pretty stuff, no mechanicals.

They also have a Miata front suspension, but no mention of which generation.

grabcad seems to have models and dimensioned engineering drawings of the NA front suspension

As well as the rear

That's the best I can do. No luck with an entire roller skate

You plan your challenge builds, I knew we were doing something wrong.

The problem is the request for the tub. Surface scans, sure. But that’s the easy stuff.

Don’t have to have the tub.

Just looking for as much as I can get.

I am morally opposed to planning Challenge builds. cheeky

How rusty of a miata can I send to Chris for this project?

Just to clarify, all 3 suspensions pictured contain parts that identify them as NA ones.

You'll need to log in to post.
