I've had this problem before, and I usually waited it out. I'm getting impatient this time.
I cleaned the underside of my hood recently—lots of muck from a coolant leak. I used a hose to rinse it, and some water poured onto the engine. Yesterday morning, my car doesn't start. It sputters a couple times, then nothing. Engine code 3: No G Signal. I figure water got into my CAS, like last time. I had previously waited a day for it to dry and went on my way. This is on a 1991 Miata, 1.6-liter.
Last night I did a little more troubleshooting and noticed I'm getting spark from one coil, no spark from the other (left coil as you're looking at the engine). Is this normal when you have no G signal? I haven't reset the code yet, so I'm not sure if the CAS is working again and I coincidentally have a bad coil as well.
