I have a sad sound coming from the back of my car and I suspect the CV joint. That said it is a gut feeling. So wise 'ole GRM how can I confirm I have a CV gone bad?

Also should I change both at the same time???

Thanks and junk.

What is the sad sound? I've developed a clunk when shifting my car. Signa may point to a worn u joint, which means replacing the driveshaft I guess?

U can replace the u joints with rx7 ones. Easiest way is with a stethascope(sp?) And pinpoint. Rear cvs are a bit harder to diag.

At slow speeds it is a repetitive creek. At speed it sounds like a flat spotted tire. It also makes more of an almost grinding sound while turning to the right.

Oh when I push the car by hand it doesn't make the sound.

Thx for your thoughts.
