Just found a set of my favourite JDMYo! wheels on the bay, they're about the right size (15x6.5 instead of 15x7 that I really wanted) but they're 45mm offset, which I understand is too much for the NA Me-Otter.

I guess I need at least a 5mm spacer to make them fit correctly then? Has anybody run wheels with spacers on the track? Bad idea?

Oh, and has anybody dealt with "Japan Direct" up in the Great White North?

Poking around t'Interwebz suggests that a spacer might not be necessary. Can anybody comment on this from experience?

FWIW, offset and width are very related. A 15x7 +40 has less inboard clearance than a 15x6.5 +45 anyway.

No, you don't need a spacer.

You need wider wheels

Yeah, I know that I need wider wheels...

TE37s in reasonable condition in 15x7 and 4x100 aren't that easy to find though unless you want to buy new (which I don't). 15x6.5" is a lot easier to find...

205/50/15 should be OK on a 6.5" wheel. Heck, I am/was running that one the BMW.

I thought the stock offset was 35 on the Miata...

I think the 45 offset would be way to suncken in on a wheel that is only 6.5" wide.

Is the hub the correct size?

Te37s are affordable........ Rota grids and some volk stickers in whatever size you want

I've always been a sucker for TE37s, so I completely understand trying to make that particular size work.

I like my $99 each 15x8s with 205/50s.

But the stickers have to read "RAVS" and "WOLK Racing", right?

Having owned a set of "real" TE37s for my FD, there is a slight difference between the real thing and the "tribute wheels".

They just seem to look right on a lot of cars.

Well, looks like that dream went up in smoke - according to the seller, these wheels have a center bore of around 45mm. Miata center bore is 57.1mm .

Just the universe telling you to buy properly sized wheels.

Yes. Back to waiting for said properly sized wheels.

Either that, or I'll just get a set of the gold RPF1s that Good Win Racing is advertising.

Miata center bore is 54.1 mm ,Tim. And what car has a 45 mm bore? Miata and Toyotas have the smallest (at 54.1) that I've ever owned.

Konig Flatout from Good-win-racing. Those are the machined lip so 15x8 ET 20 vs 15x8 ET 25 for the other finishes I believe.

Only weigh 12lbs each too!

Anybody know of any wheels in 4x100 that come in a wide variety of widths and offsets? I'm looking for something like a 16x7 +44 and 17x8 +25. I can find both sizes but not in the same wheel.

Is there a website that lets you search wheels by bolt pattern, size, width and offset?

Sorry for the hijack.

I'm not berkeleying about with machining wheels to fit, these aren't that rare. I'd rather take a lesson from our cats and sit still in front of the computer with my eyes half closed, waiting for the right moment and then pounce.

Late with this info - but just in case anyone digs this up later.

A bunch of NA Miatas came with 15x6 +45mm wheels. So no problem fitting a 15x6.5 with the same offset. There's lots of room. I think I've got a set of 16x7 +45 wheels on one of my cars, actually.

Stock offset on an NA is +45, for an NB it's +40. I think the NC is +50.

BTW, Miata hub bore = 54.1

Saturn & VW are 57.1

I would get the seller to check the center bore again. Never seen one with a center bore that small.
