Have to replace the windshield on the MSM after an errant rock last night.

After the debacle i'm still dealing with from replacing the windshield on the Jeep (HUGE wind noise), i'd like to ask the brain trust first this time.

I suspect that the wind noise on the Jeep is being caused by non-OEM moulding.

So my questions:

1) OEM or aftermarket Moulding?
2) OEM or aftermarket glass?

I have a $250 deductible for glass, and i may have to pay more for OEM, but if it's worth it, it's worth it.

I had the Miata's windshield replaced when I got mine. It was around $250 (no insurance claim) if I remember. I didn't request anything special so I don't know if I got OEM stuff or not, but I'm happy with it. The company/guy came to my driveway while I was at work and the car was fixed when I got home.

I'd say: don't worry about it and have a big named place do it.

OEM moulding Windshield I would go with factory or at least get US made (Pilkington or PPG).

Who you have install it is by far the biggest issue with glass. I have had the one place that always fixed the glass at the dealership replace the W/S on the Dakota and it has been fine. Had the W/S replaced in the Mustang once by Safelite, never a problem there. Had the W/S replaced in my F250 by the local glass place and it leaks right at the very top dead center. They are willing to look at it and fix it for nothing because it may be a rust spot under the bright moldings and not a gasket/urethane failure.
