I'm looking at opportunities to swap my FC RX7 hillclimber away from McPherson struts. Seems like I could keep it in the family and find a Miata or FD RX7 front subframe and swap it in with (reasonable)work. Thoughts?
I can't readily find a good photo of the FC front subframe.

Neither of them is going to be bolt in. On the FD, the upper control arms connect to the body and no the subframe so you will need to fabricate new mounts for them as well as the subframe. The miata has the uppers connected to the subframe so it should be a little easier as you only need to worry about mounts for the subframe. I think the track width is a little narrower but I don't remember numbers off hand. Are you planning on keeping the rotary or doing something different? Neither of them use the same motor mounts as the FC.
