It's always worth playing around with an insurance company's online payment calculator. A while back I was shopping for motorcycle insurance. They showed a breakdown of how they arrived at the payment. As I adjusted the coverage, I noticed that total cost wasn't changing from their minimum annual premium. Within that premium though, the percentages assigned to various parts of the coverage were changing. I was able to bump up my coverage without changing my annual cost by much.
I live in Michigan ,too. We have 3 drivers,4 vehicles and full coverage on all.My most recent statement was $1322 for 6 months. That's to cover a '99 Miata,'03 Cooper S,'06 Scion xB and a '01 Astro. The Astro is the most expensive at $377 and the others are all about the same at $315, give or take a couple of bucks.
