Same thought here too. Along the Mississippi = the middle of the Midwest. Two states over is getting into East Coast territory.

Too short of notice: Rally Cross Nationals just east of Omaha @ end of September. Close to I-80/I-29 intersection.

It's in Indianola, which is 10 minutes south of Des Moines. I'll be there!
As of now, 9/9/16 we are planning for 10/15/16 at the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. If you can say "In" or "Out" I will try to put a list together and figure out a place to eat as a group
Also; $13 for adults, $10 for age 7-17 and free under age 6.

Count me in. Might be a touch late as my daughter has cheer from 8:30-9:30. But, I'm only 45ish minutes away and it's a huge place.

Also...FWIW.. There are some amazing driving roads near the museum.
M43 that runs north of Gilmore is an amazing twisty curvy country road that should be in peak fall colors.
Just saying....
Possible food idea: http://www.thedockatbayview.com/home.html
I'm about 10 or 15 minutes from there. Not sure yet if I'll be able to attend. I'm not much of a "foodie", but I can tell you there is a little bit of everything on Gull Road, which is about 10 or 15 minutes away. Most food in Galesburg or Richland is likely to be primarily of the "greasy spoon" variety. M-43 is actually a pretty decent road, so you may want to check in Hastings, MI. That's about 20-25 minutes north from Gilmore and is my favorite drive within 100 miles of Kalamazoo. If you decide to make a weekend of it, the Air Zoo is worth your time too. If you need any other "local advice" just let me know.
Oh, and don't speed in Richland.
Hmm I'm gonna have to go Maybe on this one. My October weekends are filling up. I'll give you a better idea when it gets closer.
Hah...just looking at my calendar. It's a hallmark holiday on 10/15 (Sweetest Day).
My wife will love being home with the offspring :)
It opens at 9:00, so anywhere from there to ten. Looks like it is big enough to not see it all in a normal day anyway.
