I noticed this post on the Faceballs-
Since Qualcomm Stadium is just a few miles from work I rushed down there-
The Impala is a BIT loud
I just missed a little meet and greet with Finnegan, Freiberger, Marty, and Moog though. Mechanical Stig was hanging out near the fence at least. I had to run back to work, but hopefully I'll get a chance to make it back down there before they leave. Maybe I can get some autographed RK and MCM swag.
That's rad! The Miata super/turbo test was neat. I can't wait to see what these guys come up with.
Man I am right down the street from there. Would love to see them do a few runs.

In reply to wearymicrobe:
They have an autox course setup. They were just doing some staging/filming when I was down there. I'm hoping to see some action when I return too.
I thought that looked like the stadium I still remember as being named Jack Murphy. :)
Looking forward to this massively. what do you think it's going to come out as? Obviously we've got a Bugeye WRX 'Ute Vs The Impala. Do you think it's going to be like UK Top gear Vs Aussie Top gear with some made up challenges and one side cheating for laughs?

I doubt there will be cheating, but I do foresee shenanigans

They killed it, or at least a tire.
CHOPPED!
As a previous 69 Impala owner - I can't wait
I just don't know why The Roadkill guys didn't put an Alternator in the Impala. All their updates during their trip was about keep having to stop because they couldn't use the headlights or they had to switch out the battery, etc.
I get it's probably to add a little excitement to everything and it is Roadkill, so I don't know why I'm complaining.
They should've mounted a couple batteries in parallel in the cabin, swap 'em out as they go, now that would be roadkill worthy.

I can't be the only one who thinks that Ute is better executed than the Baja, right?

Finnegan came out and chatted with the crowd before Marty and Moog did. I asked him if he was the only guy from Top Gear there. You should have seen the look on his face before I reminded him of the teaser promo they did with MCM. But I never got a chance to meet Freiberger. Apparently he came out to meet and greet after I left (of course!).
After watching their shows for years I always thought it would be great to meet them. But you figure it will never happen, because Australia and all.
The MCM guys were great though. Just super nice, exactly what you expected. They were chatting it up with everyone, hopping in their cars, taking pictures in and around the fans cars.
Another reason I need to move closer to that part of the country where stuff like this happens.

Being here is only half the thing, you have to know it's happening, and it helps to be unemployed or have a very understanding boss. I live up the road, had the week off, and was busy sanding composite panels on Midlana. I'd have driven down had I known, but what are you going to do!
This may be sacriligeous, but I have yet to get through an entire episode of MCM.

If it works for cheap toys it must work for cars!
