Hey, I'm coming to the Mitty with my daughter and her boyfriend in tow. They say they have no problem tent camping with me.

This is the first time I've attended a race as an overnight "spectator" in 20yrs. I did go to the Mitty last year, but didn't stay at the circuit overnight.

I used to camp with the Corner Workers, but most of the Workers I knew don't work anymore..so I'd like to camp close to some of you guys instead. Here's a track map, tell me where you're going to be? I was thinking about the hill overlooking Turn 5 (in the woods, close to the bathrooms), or along the old dirt road outside of the circuit between 9 and 10a.

I will be camping but have never done so before, last year was my first and I stayed off site, so no help but I want to know where the GRM camping will be located also.

I will be camping in the pits if I drink too much to drive to Lawrenceville. What am I saying if?

Everyone camping in the infield is welcome to our big party Saturday night with free beer (over 21) and great live music.

There are plenty of logical camping areas near the rest rooms and many are within easy walking distance to the festivities.

i will be there, thinking around turn 9 (that kink) on the outside of the track. I'll either be in the Fiat, time permitting, or the Blue Jetta...

Depends on whether or not you're bringing the Supra. We could drink enough to start the "GRM GT Car Club"...

Seriously, if you're coming by yourself, stop by Mega-Lo Mart, get yourself a dome tent for 20bux, and come set up next to us. The camping passes attach to the windshield-not the tent, so if you can cough up for an infield pass, we just gotta block in your car at night. Traditionally, most of the track security just works the gates..and the few that patrol the infield are usually off-duty Hall Co. Sherriff's Dept guys, and are very lenient when you explain that someone's had too much to drive.

Only guys I saw thrown out of the Mitty last year were a couple of the young'uns from a JNC club that were drifting around the skid pad down between Turn 6&7 after the big thunderstorm on Saturday. Just stay cool, and you probably won't be bothered by anybody.

EDIT: If she's coming as well, just get the $30 dome tent instead..same rules apply!

A popular site is on the infield side of turn 10a in the corner between the old access road and the road coming from the Turn 10 tunnel. Easy walking (staggering? ) distance to the GRM tent (if it's in the same place that it was last year). Can't see the track very well from that spot, though.

Hey as an aside to this are dogs allowed and welcome, Black Jack will be with me if it's all kosher.

That said is turn 10 going to be the GRM area

Lastly, can we have a campfire, if so do we need a fire ring?

looks like I am going to be working a tent in the vendor row for at least part of the day. Swing in and see me, and be ready with a beer or two when I get done! I will DEFINITELY be at the GRM party on Saturday night!

Tell ya' what, I will bring the Supra if you bring the Alfa. I bet mine is closer to being done (bazinga)

I will [hopefully] be rolling in a 914-6 with a 3.0 liter from an SC. we shall see. If not, I will probably bring the Aspire8 to enter the concours de lemons. lol.

With some discretion, one of these "could" be a bbq grill:

$60 at Lowe's.............

Black Jack seems restricted to a bottle, not a leash.

Oh, damn. They must have got their serving license back. Holy cow! Must have been damn near 30yrs since they lost it..I guess the Petit's finally gotten big enough for Hall Co. to finally fall in love with the place.

Note to self: Bring plastic cups...

Me, either. I'm so tired of everyplace on Earth trying so hard to be "family friendly" that they suck the fun out of everything for adults. I guess they're trying to tell my daughter that "..this is not your father's racetrack."
