Has the Hive ever heard of these guys before ?!?

www.mobiusmotors.com

I am not sure exactly why, but I'd LOVE to drive one of these rigs!

Interesting. The Mobius 2 would sell like hotcakes by me for sure. If it had more suspension travel, some side windows and room for huge tires it could be a modern Samurai substitute.

I never saw it say it was 4WD, so I guess its only RWD.

Good point. I can't see from any of the pics whether there are axles going to the front wheels. The frame has openings where axles could go, but the front rails being level with the under-cabin rails says RWD:

I've seen a video about this before. It's supposed to be an affordable all-terrain vehicle for poor African countries IIRC. Not a bad thing really. Definitely no frills.

How about this vs the mclaren fwd flat pack truck. I would rock either.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the Rooskie jeep that was supposed to be coming here 10-15ish years ago.

This is actually FWD. look at that rear axle:

and the engine is a transverse 4:

And take a look at how that axle tube attaches to the hub:

The tube chassis looks like it'd take some labor hours to build, but guessing that is still an affordable resource where they are built. All in all, pretty cool rig, me thinks.

They should talk to VW USA about getting some cheap slightly used diesels.

Cool. I also like the OX, designed by Gordon Murray.

It packs flat, like an Ikea bookshelf!

The Ox reminds me of a modern day Moke turned into a truck.

Both would appear to be more economically viable than the Elio !!!

The engine specs are interesting:

Engine Type: Petrol, Inline 4-cylinder
Engine Capacity: 1598 cc
Engine Output: 86 hp at 5500 rpm
Maximum Torque: 128 Nm @3000 rpm
Maximum Speed: 120 kmph
Transmission: 5 speed manual

Kinda surprised they didn't go with diesel.

Definitely looks to be designed for a specific market in mind and to be as simple as possible. Likely impossible to ever be DOT legal here in the US, but as a ranch vehicle it may be better than some side-by-side UV's.

Still could be all-terrain

mac struts in the front suspension. Other than those, I could see this being a good "ranch" vehicle instead of the overblown side by sides as Ian noted

i think most non SXS ranch vehicles are Kei Trucks. Which come in both road legal and not road legal.
