Wow, am I behind here.
I'm in! Not sure what I'm going to do. My kit stash is almost totally sports car and performance import related. I do have an old Lindberg Richard Petty Belvedere stock car that may work. No off road tires, though. Hmmm...
I think I'll be going with a more "Death Race" or cyberpunk look than a true wasteland "Road Warrior" look.

It's the white fine line tape I'm worried about...
going to decant some blue paint tonight and give it a shot!
Decals on:
Now to weather it. I'm going to break out my airbrush that I haven't touched in almost 20 years...
Good news - my Tamiya USA shipment arrived today! This Soarer 3.0 will be perfect for the streets of Neo Tokyo.
The hood comes molded in clear plastic which is really cool! I have a few sets of 3- and 4-spoke wheels so we'll see what looks and fits best.

That's hot! I have no idea what gen mine is:
All I know is it's going to be brown with 4-spokes. Looking forward to yours!
Airbrush weathering step done. I even got most of the paint on the car instead of myself, so win! This is literally the first time I've touched my airbrush since 2001...
Next will be assembly and then brush weathering.
I did some Warhammer terrain while I was at it.

Supercharger, big tires, black paint gets you 95% of the way there.
I finished the interior tonight.
Nitrous tank in the back, rear seat delete, rear mount radiator, crappy roll bar, and spare tire back there.
Up front there's a chrome low rider steering wheel, a busted nav screen and missing a/c knob, no glove box, ratchet shifter, and a carbine tied to the cracked dash.
I sprayed the stripes on my Corviar last night.. and they came out ok (some touch up needed) but the hood came out bad. I'm assuming a mixture of the high humidity, and too much thin paint at once. I'm debating rather to just scuff and reshoot the hood, or strip the whole thing. :/

I'll mail you something!

The rest turned out great, if you do anything just do the hood! Have you tried wet sending with a really high grit paper (1000-1500) and then polish? All of that should come out.

I suddenly have a strong desire to have one of these in real life...........same wheels and everything.
Grabbed this wooden push bumper from a 1970 Ford police car kit. Decided that an all-black truck would be boring, so we'll say the old hood flew up and smashed out the windshield, so they replaced it with a yellow one they found. I'll dirty it up some though, don't worry.
Also trying out different seating arrangements.
I didn't really want to put "glass" in the car and couldn't find any mesh material anywhere except the screen door, sooo...
And installed in the rear window hole:
I think I'm going to keep the windshield though.
Well, that went faster than expected. There were only a handful of parts left to assemble, so cleaning up the black parts and dealing with the decals were the big hold-ups. The 40-year-old decals were shot, so I printed up some new ones. The rear bumper sits crooked, just like my car did. There's no adjustment on the kit, so maybe Monogram was replicating the poor workmanship at the Speake plant!
Size comparison, since I have all of the models sitting on my desk at the moment (Monogram RX-7, Monogram TR7, Aoshima NB Miata, Tamiya NA Miata):
I guess I have time to drag out the Revell Reynard and see how far I can move it along.
