Benswen you're up for a kit.
Not the best photo. Tablet camera lens is awful. Will return with better. Other than weathering, which I am loathe to do, it's done.
Gotta have winch right?
Interior before installing body.
I bought a really crappy Ford Galaxie police car for some interior pieces.

Well done!!! That looks the business!
Hint on weathering, forget paint. Use real dirt.
Had to come up with some replacement tires the originals were like rocks and no longer fit the wheels.

Sorry, I was radio silence for a while there. Will post pics when I get the Soarer finished. Getting the stance right took longer than anticipated.

You have to choose a kit dude, you won

All of August build challenge. Trying to get GRM to make it official somehow. Working on it.

Dan Gurney's Lola T160! We should do a build off with all Can Am Cars.
In reply to Snowdoggie :
Would be cool, but there's a bit of a shortage of Can Am kits. Could probably do one of the big McLaren or Eagle "wedge" cars with cardboard, I suppose. We're going to Road America this weekend for the Brian Redman vintage weekend, there will the whole assortment of Can Am cars, from early GT40's and Lolas to the late Shadows and 917's.
How about models built without a kit? Totally scratch built - paper, cardboard, duct tape, styrene sheet, etc?
In reply to Benswen :
I aspire to tackle a project like that someday, but I have a feeling it would take me a lot more than a month.
How about a "re-body" challenge...take any model car body and swap it onto a chassis from a different kit. Or a custom tube frame. Or something.
I'm gonna put a Cobra body on a VW pan.
In reply to Snowdoggie :
I would be a ringer at the Can Am challenge, I have an Accurate Miniatures McLaren...
Though I don't mind (and often like) the 'theme' builds my model building tastes are pretty narrow. I'll build along but may not participate in the theme of the month. If that makes me ineligible for a 'win' I'm okay with it. I just like the motivation to get stuff done on a timetable.
