What brand is the gold, and what brand is the clear? How many hours between color and clear?
Whoa Javelin! On a Thunderjet chassis too! Is that a resin body?
For those that don't know, here is a reproduction Thunderjet chassis next to a Quarter.
The car is Matchbox or Hotwheels size!

Dupli-Color automotive paint that's at least 10 years old... No clear, it did it as soon as I sprayed the gold. The black is Dupli-Color engine enamel.
In reply to noddaz :
Yes, it is a resin body on a Thunderjet. It is true HO scale (1/87) so it's quite a bit smaller than a Hot Wheels.
In reply to Javelin (Forum Supporter) :
OK that explains it. Dupli Color body paint is real lacquer. Engine enamel is enamel. The vehicle in lacquer (thinner) acts like stripper on any enamel. A barrier between them sometimes can prevent the craze, but is not a reliable technique. The age of the paint is not an issue here.

Dammit, I read the fine print on the back and you called it! I'm an idiot sometimes.
I'm sorry I couldn't make it this time with a finished model. Work to the best of the time I had available and, since it didn't go as plan, some time not spent not working was spent trying my best not to get depressed about what was happening at work... hopefully, things will get better next week!
congrats to those who finished, some really nice models where shown again this time around ...
Sorry for the wait, was busy working on 1:1 motorcycles all day. I'll stick with my Ford (power) and take the Cobra. Always wanted to build that. Pretty cool...I never win anything!

Very cool indeed. PM me with your shipping address and I expect to get it in the mail on Tuesday. The Cobra builds really well. No fit issues at all, and the detail level is superb. Doesn't take up much shelf space when done either!
OK Javelin, your turn, Penske Indy car of Tamiya Ferrari TestaRosa? PM me with shipping details and choice.

Thank you for hosting! It's okay though, pass mine along to someone else. I have too many to build as it is!
Made decent progress, but not anywhere near finished this round. I'm going to to try wrapping this one up during the next round timeframe just for fun.
Great work again this round, really loving seeing everyone give this a go!
I wish I had gotten the wheels to fit a bit better, and there are a few other little mistakes but overall I'm happy with it.
