Don’t get your hopes up. It’s actually a slick diesel truck aimed at tow operators.
And pinchvalve is correct. It isn’t an elephant print but a camel print.
And the vehicle will be billed as the “Camel...” No. No it will not.

Obviously the big footprint indicates its gonna be something bigger than something Dodge already makes.
Dodge Grand Journey with an extra 12" of length over the regular Journey.
That, or a Hemi Caravan.

I may actually start liking minivans if they did this

Since SEMA is just starting, I wouldn’t expect anything until later in the week.

The announcement will be October 30 - at 4:26 pm Pacific time - on cratehemi.com.
My theory is that it's a Gen II Hemi (they were the one with the Elephant name) crate motor in the 900-1000 hp range (enough to "step on" the Hellcat). I'm also guessing that the intake will be low enough that it can fit under a Charger's hood with only a small scoop, so that rules out something like an 8-71 blower.

The time is all you need to know about this... and a bit of history.
Say hello to the Hellephant. A 1000hp/950lb-ft 426ci 3rd-gen Hemi with a 3.0L supercharger. All ready to drop in and fire up. they also debuted it in a hella sexy 1968 Charger
I laughed at "drop in applications for pre 1976 cars."
Yea... Because there's usually no smog rules for those years. That's a technicality not a feature. I was sort of hoping for the e-rod treatment in the press release though.
Still cool that it exists.
In reply to The0retical :
It's a Big Deal because the 3g Hemi swaps are a bit of a PITA in the older cars, where most of the demand for crate Hemi swaps comes from.

Rwd 600 hp wagon.
700 hp corvette
600+ hp camaro
Crazy mustang with flat plane cranks
Ford gt
Etc...
Just curious why dodge gets all the accolades for being crazy.
They didn't build 700hp SUVs or cars that pull wheelies and scare the NHRA in showroom trim.
And because the Ford and Chevy are reacting to the Mopar stuff. It's the first person to dance on the table with a lamp shade on his head that is pegged as crazy, not the me-too's.

Hellcat Grand Cherokee exists, no?
Yawn. I'm over all of this horsepower war stuff with the big 3. It's just a wiener slinging competition for rich old guys who can afford to to drop $25k+ on an engine. Give us something really unique that nobody else does, give it a great sound, and give it adequate power. I'd love to see unusual stuff like v4's, small displacement (like 1.5-3 liter) v8's and v12's. How about some boxer engines? Oval pistons? Give us some variety in the automotive world.
