Hate to keep beating a dead horse but.............my friend at the Toyota dealership called me again today with more CFC fun facts.

Fun fact #1: His dealership is one of 12 dealerships owned by the same group. They have taken in 1009 CFC trade ins. They have received payment for one (1) vehicle so far and are waiting on $ 4.5 million from the government.

Fun fact #2: Most trade ins are the usual Explorer, Cherokees, Chrysler vans etc but they have couple Audi A6s, a Lexus LS400 and a 12 cylinder Jaguar on his lot. The last four mentioned all have major (expensive) repairs needed. One A6 has no brakes at all. Pedal goes to the floor. The other A6 revs to redline (and stays there) when started. The Lexus has no working electronics and the Jag has terminal rod knock. Oh ya, one of the Chrysler minivans had a light roll. Still runs but most of the windows were out.

Fun fact #3: This is my favorite. Two of the cars traded in don't run at all or quit running once turned in which makes them ineligible for the program so (they have to be running to qualify).................here's the good part. They have to drag them inside and get them running so they can haul them back out, certify that they are running vehicles and then kill them. Dealership allows only 2 quarts of sodium silicate per vehicle to do the dirty deed.

Fun fact #4: Any employee caught taking any part/thing off any of the cars will be terminated immediately.

He's going to try and video tape the death of the Jag so stay tuned to this channel for further info. No cars will be killed until the payment is received so it may be a while.

Ok I will go away now.

Fun Fact #4. they said the same thing to us at work as well. dont take anything off the cars. I have terminated three cars so far and let me tell you it feels so wrong. All those cars can go to low income families or for decent parts.

Soooo, I am subsidizing a collaboration between the buyer and the dealer to rip off the government (AKA-me)?
