I'm using that.
My son needed a truck recently and could have bought new but said, what do you buy? Everything's junk.

A Ridgeline would seem pretty low rent compared to a Raptor and especially an R(as it should at half the cost),but probably spend less time in the shop.
Only have a 1000 miles on my '24 but I do like it and its the perfect size for my needs now.
Hopefully Ford takes care of it with no drama.

Low rent compared to my 2001 Sequoia that I use while my Ford products spend their life at the dealer for service? I know a lot of choices will be a downgrade but is it really if it's actually reliable and does what I need it to do? Like I said, I love them when they work, it's just beyond frustrating. I had 13k trouble free miles on this one and boom.
DirtyBird222 said:This seems to be a common problem across the ecoboost and Raptor Forums. I could just sell off some of my other toys and put it to a Raptor R or just get a Ridgeline since I really don't need all of this truck at the moment.
I wonder if the F-250s with the 7.3 Godzilla have similar QC issues.
Early info (dont know if its an actual trend or just anecdotal at this time) is telling me Ford, much like chevy, also struggles to build or source a lifter that doesnt grenade.
I have very high hopes for the 7.3. and Im not a ford guy, hope the lifter thing is an isolated incident or is solved quickly.

Lol,no a new ridgeline would be a step up from a 23 yr sequoia in many ways...an old ridgeline probably not much of a step in either direction.
I had an '03 V8 4runner with essentially the same drivetrain, should've kept it despite its love of fuel.

My son with the Raptor also has a 96 Bronco with over a 100k on it and a 351. Recently started doing what your grandad's did regarding starting. He fixed it with an electrical part (I don't remember which one). Cheaper than a new Tundra and runs great.
This is one of those faults I would really love to go back in time and see if I couldn't diagnose it. I was much too young back in the 1990s to be troubleshooting such things, but if you remember the part let me know! I'd love to know what it was

Some one needs to remake who let the dogs out with who let the smoke out. Needs to be a music video.
Where is Weird Al when you need him. 🤪
Dealer visit #1 - They stated they needed to apply a software update directed from a TSB regarding this issue. Picked it up the same day. 20 miles later the issue reappears but disappears after a power cycle. I perform Ford's soft reset and it goes away for about a week. Reappears right as I'm dropping my kids off at school.
Dealer visit #2 - They state they are going to order new wastegates. They call me the same day and say "Your vehicle is repaired and ready for pickup." Get in, check engine light is still on. I go grab the service writer and he's like "oh yea, the part is ordered, we just figured you'd want your truck back, we haven't fixed it yet." Like bro, do you think I want to drive my truck in limp mode? I feel like this is a Ford tactic to avoid someone say "my car was in the shop for XX days" if they do file a Lemon Law case. And of course they didn't have a loaner and wouldn't give me a rental. Sequoia is currently being fitted with new wheel bearings all the way around, lower ball joints, etc. The S2000 is still waiting for the diff to be rebuilt. Luckily a friend let me borrow his WRX since he just bought a new CTR.
