Sooooo. I'm literally the worst person at figuring out wheels but I do know I need to change my bolt pattern. My Sonic has a stupid 5x108 that only the sonic and cruise use so I want to run spacers that change the pattern to something more common to make wheels easier to find. Do you guys have any recommendations on what pattern I should go to? I'm basically looking for a 16", 5x???, 7-8"wide, +30-+40 offset. I'd like to have a selection of decent weight and decent price.
Probably 5x100 I would think.
The 5×4.25 bolt pattern is equal to 5x108.
5x4.75" is super common. Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, many of the lighter duty B-body, S-10, some of the Astros, pretty much any GM RWD. Jaguar and Isuzu also used it over the years.
5x4.5" is also super common. Mustang to start, but Rover, Mitsu, Subaru, Kia, Jeep, Acura, Mopar, and it's also a common 5-bolt pattern for trailers.
5x108 isn't what I would call uncommon. Thunderbird, Mark viii, Porsche, Volvo, Jag, Mopar. I understand that it may not be a common spacer size since they weren't used on a many cars that many people customize. When I bought wheels for my Mark VIII, I didn't have any lack of selection in a +30mm offset, but I did go with 19s. I didn't shop smaller wheels.
I have the old wheels off the Mark VIII. They're 16x7 +35mm if I recall.
Mercury Sable, Monterey, and Cougar had 14 and 15" options.
Have you tried Ebay? Are you just looking for a better look? Or are you looking for track?
And keep in mind, 5x108 is just a fancy way of saying 5 x 4.25" unless you're concerned about it being off by 0.0019 inches.

5x114.3 is the only logical option for anything that is not a Corvette or Camaro (5x4.75").
5x108 was also used by Ford on the Focus based vehicles and Volvo for quite a while so there is some options for other OE wheels.

I would have said the same thing.. 5x114.3 on Nissan/Infiniti, RX-8, Lexus LS/SCs, Fords.. spans a huge range of diameters, widths, and offsets.

Just to clarify... 5 x 114.3 is 5 x 4.5.
When I first read your post, I thought you were saying 5 x 114.3 was the 5 x 4.75.
Mazdas, and jeeps are /were 5 x 4.5 also.

The good news is that you can adapt Buick Verano hubs and brakes and their glorious 5x115 bolt pattern wheel and it's infinitely close to 5x4.5"/5x114.3" wheel fitments.
The bad news is Buick Verano hubs are expensive.

RockAuto has oe verano hubs for under $300/pair. Thats still cheap.

Ford Focus mk3 and Fusion used the 5x108 along with some Ferraris.
The most common 5 lug patterns are easily the 5x4.5(5x114.3) & 5x4.75(5x120)

All correct - except you mention Astro/Safari vans... they are sorta like a bigger S10... but used the big B body 5 on 5" lug pattern. Till 03 up got the GM 6 lug 16" wheels. Just to keep things complicated.
I've only owned one GM B body (5 on 5"). Not familiar with a "smaller" B body. I always thought they were all big GM? Not sure on that one.

It's a crap shoot before the 90s. The cop cars, wagons, and C and D variants all had the 5x5, although I did own a 94 Roadmaster Wagon with (gasp) the 5x4.75. Never got a satisfactory answer on why or how many that happened to. But if you bought, for instance, a Caprice in the 80s with the 3.8L and no HD options, it likely had a 5x4.75. If you got the V8, towing package, HD suspension package, 9C1, etc, it likely had 5x5. When I say "small," that was shorthand for "wimpy base model"
I was under the impression that the AWD Astros were 5x4.75 because they borrowed the AWD stuff from the S10.
Edit to add: I didn't include the common 5x5 in my earlier post, mostly because he said he was looking for a positive offset. I'm sure there are some out there, but I would wager that nearly all factory options are close to zero offset. I think my Impala SS was something like +4mm.

ALL five lug Volvos and five lug high-offset Fords (meaning transverse applications, and post-Fox Thunderbirds) were 5x4.25.
There are a ton out there. I bet certain Volvo 850 wheels would look incredible on a Sonic.
But... I thought GM used 5x110 which is a truly odd pattern.

Oh, yea. Nothing in the 5 on 5 would help him, and I knew the small reference... just didn't know gm did that! Not surprised, though. Thanks for helping me out of that rabbit hole! You're my B body go to guy!
The Astro all used the 5 on 5; even the AWD. But the rest is all s10. But wider. So almost nothing fits! And the full size truck stuff doesn't work either

MB is 5x112
Some engineers should be shot for coming up with 20 different lug patterns and spacing. We all know that they only did that for spite.
