Well, my wife and son have been bugging me to put power steering on the E Stock MR2. I've had the parts for years, but always got intimidated when I looked at how big a job it is.
This week, evenings after work, I got started. I had to swap out the whole front end wiring harness. I figured that wasn't really hard, just tedious and would get a big hunk of the job done. Happy to report that part is finished and everything seems to be working. I have all the electronical boxes mounted for the P/S but figured it wise not to plug them in until I have it all done. But all the connectors line up and it's all ready to go. So far so good and the car is running for this weekend's autocross.
I'm out of town next week, so nothing will get done, but when I look at what's left, I think the worst is behind me. Have to pull the steering wheel to mount the steering sensor, then cut holes in the frunk for the reservoir and pump. Then it's just a bolt up job.
Whew! Big job.
